A who’s who at AEF!
STM – Short-term Missionary: Our team has ranged from high school-adults who travel to Taiwan for 3 weeks during summer to serve the Aboriginals and Taiwan children through teaching English.
TA: Teacher’s Assistant: Bilingual high school kids from many countries (Taiwan, China, Korea, etc) who translate for STMs during class.
SGL: Small Group Leader: Middle school through college kids from Taiwan, mostly the church youth/college group who take care of kids during camp such as being the big sister/brother in their dorm room, discipline issues, and much more.
Co-workers: Middle school kids who want to help out with camp, many of them used to attend AEF as a student, and now they are serving new kids!
Worship team: A mix of Aboriginal kids (they were camp students the very first year AEF began) and church kids. They lead us in worship time and also perform skits.
A class at AEF consists of 1-2 STMs, 1 TA, 1-2 SGLs, 1-2 Co-workers, 1 Worship Team, and 20-25 kids. This class becomes a family during the week as they do everything together, from rooming to eating to class time to being one team for game time. Although the teaching team comes from very diverse backgrounds, God always overcomes those differences and helps the team to become one in order to better love and serve the kids.
